The arts and culture are a powerful means to connect people, and are integral to the development of a Singapore common identity. To this end, arts education serves as a crucial catalyst in shaping our future cultural landscape. At SOTA, our vision is to nurture creative citizens who will positively impact both Singapore and the world. We are committed to providing a vibrant and supportive environment for holistic learning deeply rooted in the arts.
To support this vision, we have established the SOTA Endowment Fund (SEF) to ensure long-term sustainability of funds to provide essential financial assistance to our students through bursaries, scholarships and other financial assistance.
We strongly believe that no talented child should be deprived of an arts education, regardless of their financial circumstances. Your contribution to the SEF will make arts education accessible to students from all backgrounds, empowering them to pursue their passion and reach their fullest potential.
Beyond financial assistance, your contribution sends a powerful message of inclusivity and support for the arts community. Together, we can nurture the next generation of creative leaders for years to come. Join us in making a lasting impact and transforming lives through the gift of arts education.
A SOTA student spends an average of S$7,700 per year on school essentials such as school fees, learning materials, transport, meals, and uniforms. Your donations will go towards supporting students who require financial assistance, helping them to ease their financial burden and focus on their studies.
Here is how your support can make a difference:
$100 provides a month’s meal allowance to a student beneficiary
$150 provides a month’s meal and transport allowance to a student beneficiary.
$350 provides a year’s worth of learning materials allowance to a student beneficiary.
$7,700 supports a student beneficiary through a year of studies.
Your generosity has already had a profound impact on the lives of our students. Through the SEF, we have been able to provide crucial financial aid, ensuring that talented young artists can thrive and excel.
“An arts education builds character and encourages change in our community. Your support will help people like me achieve dreams that are larger than we expected them to be.”

“Being born and raised in a single-parent home with two other siblings, my mom has to work extremely hard to make ends meet and that made the two of us realize the value of our Secondary education. As past bursary holders throughout our six years, the support from the bursary has greatly lightened our family’s financial and shown us hope and encouragement. It taught us to stay resilient and motivated, to work hard and prove both ourselves and others that we are responsible, capable, dedicated and passionate artists who can succeed despite our family’s setbacks.”

“But unfortunately, not everyone can afford following their dreams. In my case, I wanted to become a performer, and I felt that SOTA’s Theatre Faculty was the right choice for me. However, I came from a single-parent household, and worried that SOTA was too expensive for me. Then, I got offered a scholarship, and the subsidy in school fees allowed me to pursue my education here. I would not be pursuing my dream to become a film actor if I had not been given that scholarship.”

“The SOTA Endowment fund has not only helped me, but also my parents in allowing me to pursue my passions without worries or financial burdens. The endowment fund has been instrumental in helping me realise my full potential and achieve my goals of making my family proud.”
