SOTA’s Experiential Education programme immerses students in purposefully crafted physical and outdoor activities, designed to cultivate knowledge, skills, and values for active and healthy living.

 

Emphasising direct, hands-on experiences and exploration, the programme promotes growth in physical, kinesthetic, and affective areas. These dynamic activities nurture independent, self-directed learners with a lifelong passion for physical pursuits.

Learning Outcomes

  • Physical and Movement Proficiency: Develop students’ physical and movement skills, enabling active participation and fun in various sports and games.
  • Health and Wellness: Acquire the knowledge and skills essential for active living, sustaining lifelong health and enhancing overall well-being.
  • Outdoor Skills and Adventure: Cultivate competencies for outdoor activities, fostering an interest in outdoor recreational activities
  • Character Development: Foster qualities such as teamwork, resilience, self-discipline and leadership, through engagement in sports and outdoor adventures.

Key Programmes

  • Sports and Games: Gain diverse sporting experience through territorial invasion games, net barrier games, striking and fielding games, target/wall games, individual challenge sports, and inclusive sports.
  • Physical Health and Fitness Education: Equip students with the foundational knowledge of health, fitness, and principles of training, including exploring various fitness training methods to enhance physical strength and resilience.
  • Outdoor Adventure and Life Skills: Embrace nature and the outdoors through camps, expeditions, environmental literacy, kayaking, and cycling.
